The Trophy

In 2006, Bill Herington and Joe Gildersleeve presented the Douglas Cup to The Parkland Golf Course Member Jeff Douglas, to place as a prize for an member’s competition between two teams selected from the membership at PGC. The trophy is similar to the Ryder Cup trophy and the trophy stands 13 inches high, is seven inches from handle to handle and weighs four pounds. The golfing figure depicted on the top of the trophy reflects the image of Samuel Ryder. This trophy will be presented to the winning team and was intended to be displayed in the New Parkland Golf Club House. The images of the winning team will display alongside the winners. The trophy is a symbol of these members deciding to develop a superior tournament for the betterment of the PGC.
